Residential Trip to Brittany

Residential Trip to Brittany

Friday 14th - Monday 17th July 2017

Information Evening - Wednesday 14th June 6.30pm

Mont St Michel

The MFL department are delighted to announce details of this year’s French trip to Brittany. This is a fantastic opportunity for students at RES to practice their linguistic skills and soak up some French culture. There are a limited number of places available, which will be offered firstly to Year 10 students studying French GCSE and then to Year 9 students who have chosen French as a GCSE option.

Students will be staying at the Village Vacances Ker Al Lann, which is a French holiday camp designed for school visits. The village is located in its own extensive grounds by the side of Lake Rophemel in the heart of Brittany. The village offers a wide variety of recreational facilities including archery, football, table tennis, volleyball, snooker, table football, petanque and an outdoor heated pool.

The trip would include visits to local tourist attractions such as the beautiful and historic Le Mont St Michel and the pretty town of Dinan with other excursions to be planned. We arrive on Bastille Day, which is French Independence day. This is a national holiday and celebrated throughout France, so we are currently looking at what activities may be on offer and it will be a fantastic opportunity for the students to be a part of a special day in French culture.
