Applied A Levels

Applied AS Levels are unit based vocational courses, and may lead to a three or six unit qualification. The three unit course is equivalent to one AS Level, whilst the six unit course is equivalent to two AS Levels.

Primarily for students wishing to take four AS Levels (these could include a three or six unit Applied AS Level. Please note that the six unit Health and Social Care counts as two AS choices). Students are allowed to substitute no more than one AS Level subject option for a BTEC Level 3 course of their choosing. This pathway is accessible to students who have achieved a minimum of five A*-C GCSE grades including English and Mathematics.

Mixed L3 Pathway:

For students wishing to take two AS Levels (these could include three or six unit Applied AS Level. Please note that the six unit Health and Social Care counts as two AS choices) and two BTEC Level 3 courses. This pathway is accessible to students that have achieved a minimum of five A*-C GCSE grades regardless of which subjects.

Applied A Levels

Applied A Levels are more vocational, and usually contain more coursework than a standard A-Level. However they are recognised in the same way and are equally as challenging.
