Alumni Reunion

Alumni Reunion

Saturday 30th September 2017

Rydens School RES Badges

It’s a very exciting time for us as we get closer to moving into our new school, the building of which has been self funded by the sale of the current school site. Some central funding has come our way from the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and whilst this will provide everything needed to run the new school there is a wide range of equipment we need to buy and replace to ensure we can provide the very best facilities and experiences for our students. We are working hard therefore with potential stakeholders and our PTA on a programme of fundraising to provide the items which fall outside of the scope of government funding.

Surprising as it may sound one such area is furniture !

In funding terms the school is not deemed ‘new’ as it is replacing an existing school. Unfortunately for us this means that ESFA funding is limited to only providing furniture for the extra classrooms created by the school’s expansion. The remainder as far as is possible have to be furbished from our existing stock which is far from ideal particularly as much of it is in poor condition.

The ‘Alumni Reunion’ is an integral part of our fundraising programme.

We are delighted to be able to facilitate an opportunity for our alumni to reacquaint themselves with friends and experiences from the past and take a final look at the school before it is demolished.

Judging by the memories being shared on the Alumni Facebook page the following quote rings so true;

We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere

The reunion will be a ticketed event at a cost of £20 per head. Tickets are limited and will be sold on a first come first served basis. The price includes light refreshments upon arrival a hot evening meal cooked by chefs from the Bingham Hotel Richmond and live musical performances featuring former and current students and staff. There will be a cash bar open from 5pm.

Click here to access our online event management, e-ticketing platform managed by the PTA which provides details about the day’s programme and how to purchase tickets.
